“By hammer and hand all arts do stand” – Motto of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths, London (incorporated 1571, arms granted 1610)

Metalworking is the art of transforming ore, scrap, and raw metal into the essential goods a settlement depends on. Smiths forge armor and weapons, shape parts for machinery, and create the tools required by other trades.
To begin, you will need a Metalworking Tools and materials such as ingots or scrap metal.
Most metalworking projects can be completed through Quality Crafting, allowing greater control over appearance, durability, and refinement with higher skill. Experienced smiths gain access to advanced designs, make better use of scarce resources, and produce work that can withstand generations of use.
Smelting[edit]
Smelting is the process of melting down scrap metals such as steel, lead, copper, silver, and brass into ingots. Smelting is done at the forge and normally returns one ingot for every three pieces of scrap metal.
With upgrades to your Foundry, you can improve smelting efficiency by using an Arc Furnace, which achieves the same 3:1 ratio and requires 75% Metalworking skill to operate.
To begin, double-click the chosen smelter and select a pile of scrap metal. The system will process up to ten pieces in a single batch.
| Metal | Skill (%) |
|---|---|
| Lead | 0% |
| Steel | 0% |
| Copper | 25% |
| Brass | 25% |
| Silver | 50% |
| Gold | 50% |
