Weapon attachments are limited-use items that can be applied to weapons to provide unique upgrades to make them stronger. Different crafters make different attachments, based on what makes sense for their trade.

How to Use

To put an attachment on your weapon, double-click the attachment, then select the weapon you want to use it on. Some attachments can be removed early if you change your mind. To remove one, left click your weapon and choose "Remove Attachments" from the menu. Not all attachments can be removed this way. Some, like poison or a whetstone, are used up on the weapon and cannot be taken off. Both kinds will wear out and fall off once the augments durability reaches 0%.

How They Work

Attachments when applied for the first time start with 100% durability, and every attachment loses 1% durability every time you hit something. When it reaches 0%, the attachment wears off completely allowing you to apply a new one.

You can put as many attachments on your weapon as you want, but be aware that every attachment also gives a 15% chance, per hit, that your weapon itself takes damage. So the more attachments you add, the more chances you take. Stacking too many attachments makes your weapon hit hard, but it will wear out and risk breaking much faster.

Relationship to Weapon Quality

However, weapons made with Quality Crafting allow you to get free attachment slots that do not carry the extra risk of breaking your weapon. Better crafted weapons also have more durability, so they can take more damage before breaking. A masterwork weapon can have up to 5 free attachment slots. The attachments will still wear out, but won't otherwise strain the weapons durability of the weapon.
